    Extra Information: Chevalier has a cross shaped scar on his left cheek, the horizontal part of which he got during his days as a Shinigami and the vertical part of which he got during the civil war within the Seireitei. In addition to what you see above, he is often seen wearing a tattered wandering cloak and carrying a banged up old drawstring bag whenever he is traveling.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Persona~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Personality: Chevalier desires to protect every individual from danger without causing excessive harm to others. Once known as one of the strongest and deadliest Shinigami lieutenants, he is now the target of many old enemies and people who want to gain his title. Thus, he avoids letting others get too close to him personally for their own protection. He is constantly haunted by the failures of his past and at times believes he does not deserve happiness. Most of the time, he refers to himself with the extremely humble phrase "this one" and addresses most women with an honorific, which is generally reserved for feudal lords. However when he begins to slip into the heat of battle or his Inner Hollow starts to make an appearance his speech pattern changes from being polite to serious and harsh, and his fighting style gains a more lethal intent.
    Since his “transformation” he has begun to display several unusual habits that have become most embarrassing for him when his attention is directed to them. Most of these unusual features take the form of some sort of physical “tick” that is usually provoked by some sort of emotional reaction, such as being able to tell his mood by watching his ears and tail or the fact that he has taken to quietly purring when he's happy. He has also been known to make a strange mewling sound when confused and has taken a strange liking to the scent of catnip.
    Likes: Catnip, cooking, anime/manga, helping others
    Dislikes: Bullies, elitists, green vegetables, people who tease him about his “deformity”
    Goals: Become stronger in order to protect those who cannot protect themselves, preferably without the need for killing.
    Insecurities: Physical appearance
    Fears: Scientists and tinkerers (More nervous around then truly fears)
    Strengths: Cooking, acrobatics, drawing, body reading
    Weaknesses: Public speaking, flirting, maintaining a neat personal space
    Phobias: Dogs and wolves
    Extra Information: n/a
    Withdrawals: n/a
    Bio: Born under the name Edo Daisuke, during the Warring States era of feudal Japan, Chevalier was raised by a poor family of farmers. Despite their impoverished lifestyle his parents loved their son dearly and did everything they could to provide for him in every way possible. Raised on tales of the great and noble samurai the young boy dreamed of one day distinguishing himself in battle and earning enough prestige to take his family to the city and save them from the pains of life as a peasant. Fate has a peculiar sense of humor however, when he turned 14 years of age a group of bandits came to his village and demanded tribute in exchange for their protection. Being a man of great courage and even greater ideals, and outraged by the bandit's demands, Chevalier's father convinced his fellow villagers to stand up against their would be oppressors and led them in a revolt against the bandits. Despite having caught the bandits off-guard, the farmers simply lacked the training and expertise necessary to best them in battle, and as a result they were almost completely massacred by their blood thirsty opponents.
    Realizing what was happening and despite being severely wounded, Chevalier's mother fled the village with her son as the bandits began to burn it to the ground. They ran through the night and into the morning before they reached the point where his mother could no longer continue and was forced to surrender to her wounds. As she lay dying she implored her son to leave her behind and continue running before they were captured and made an example of. Now alone, unable to avenge his home or even provide his fallen family with a proper burial, the young boy fled deeper into the woods in the hopes of evading his pursuers and finding somewhere safe to hide until he could figure out what to do next. He was on the run for almost a week before he came upon his would be savior and the man who would prove to be the most influential figure in his mortal life: Miyamoto Musashi.
    After listening to the child's story, Musashi took pity on him and offered to take him under his wing on the one prevision that the boy did not hinder his journey in any way. Dazzled by the sword the man carried, believing him to be a samurai, and given his limited options at the time, Chevalier agreed to the man's terms and began to follow him as his unofficial apprentice. The two of them wandered the countryside for almost two years as his master quested for ever stronger adversaries before eventually falling in with Hideyoshi Toyotomi and his Army of the West. The bloody war between the Toyotomi and Tokugawa clans eventually came to a head at the Battle of Sekigahara, and it was on this day that the boy known as Daisuke as well as so many others met their end at the hands of those they had once considered friends.
    Following his death, he awoke in the middle of a dusty street, which ran through an unfamiliar village with no memory as to who he was or where he came from. Picking himself up he began to wander through the town in the hopes of finding something familiar or someone who recognized him. As he walked he saw all sorts of people around him engaged in all forms of activity, including what appeared to be some form of mugging in progress. He didn't know why, but for some reason witnessing this hit a cord deep within his heart and his was moved to act in the victims defense. Grabbing a nearby bamboo pole, he ran to the man's aid and using skills he was not even aware he had was able to fight off the thieves before they were able to do any more harm. It seemed that while his mind had forgotten everything he once knew, his body still retained the muscle memory from the training he had undergone in the world of the living. Realizing that day that he could use his newly found talents for the betterment of those around him he became the unofficial protector of the Rukongi, and took on the name Chevalier, which he was told meant guardian.
    The years passed and as his prowess grew through daily training and numerous street brawls, so did his reputation. Eventually word of his accomplishments reached the Seireitei and sparked the interest of some of the Shinigami residing there, specifically the captain of the 2nd Division. Intrigued by the stories she'd heard, she decided to head out into the Rukongi herself to see if what she had heard was true. What she found, while not what she was expecting, did not exactly disappoint either. She found the object of her search just as he was in the middle of one of his interventions. As she watched him fight she could see the raw potential that was buried beneath the surface, his techniques were crude and unrefined, sure signs of having been mostly self-taught, but once one was able to see past that you were able to see the seeds of true talent which were hidden underneath. Following the fight she approached the young man in the hopes of recruiting his talents. The two of them got to know each other fairly well over the next few days, and eventually the captain was able to convince him to join the ranks of the Shinigami. Saying that with what she and the others could teach him he would be even better equipped to protect those who were unable to protect themselves.
    The training was hard, and on several occasions he was tempted to give up and return to his old life amongst the civilian populace, but his new friends among the cadet Shinigami would have nothing of it, specifically a girl by the name of Yumi Oyashiro who was his closest friend and confidant. Yumi's strengths lay in the sciences and the use of kidou, while his were more focused into the martial arts and specifically the use of the sword and hohō. She was always experimenting with new techniques and building strange little gadgets, but despite this the two of them shared a like temperament and sense of humor, soon becoming close friends as they shared the experience of training together. However, while she was his closest friend, she was always the source of his greatest embarrassment. During their final year of training the two of them were showing off to some of the younger cadets when Yumi got it into her head to try out one of her newly developed kidou techniques. Believing it to only be a harmless temporary illusion she set her sights on Chevalier and let loose with all of the power she could muster. The force of the blast knocked him cold and sent him sailing across the courtyard into a pile of tatami mats. When he returned to consciousness in the infirmary a few days later he found himself face to face with the giggling visage of his best friend and the nurse charged with overseeing his case. Getting a hold of herself long enough to apologize she passed him a mirror and showed him what would probably become one of the greatest shocks of his life. As a result of her misfired experimental technique she'd accidentally given him various cat-like attributes, namely a pair of fuzzy ears and a tail, neither of which she had any idea whether she could cure or not.
    Upon graduating from the academy Chevalier was assigned to the 7th Division under the command of one of his sponsor’s closest friends. He quickly rose through the ranks as his skills improved, soon attaining the honored position of vice-commander and finding himself transferred over to the 2nd Division at the request of his new commander due to his advanced proficiency with shunpo. While there he developed his own style of fighting which specialized in the use of highly acrobatic precision strikes and advanced hohō techniques, allowing him to seeming come at his opponent from all angles through a combination of speed and deception. This fighting style when used in conjunction with his ice based Zanpakuto soon earned him the title Kenshei Yokaze because of how he seemed to effortlessly sweep over lesser enemies like a chill night wind. Life was going well for Chevalier, he'd earned the respect of his peers despite his unusual appearance, he'd brought his fighting skills up to a whole new level which allowed him to protect even more people then he ever could have hoped. He'd even been added to the list of potential captain candidates, and then it all came apart.
    The Captain-Commander’s admission tore the soul society apart at the very core. Caught in the middle of the chaos as Captains turned on their allies and their subordinates, Chevalier found himself cutting down men and women he had considered friends and family for more then 400 years as all that he had worked so hard to protect imploded from within. Allying himself with his former commander he was forced to detach himself from his emotions and become a living weapon in order to survive, killing his own kind in the vain hope of ending the strife around him and restoring balance to the Soul Society. It was also during this time that the Arrancar made their move, taking their war with the shinigami to the next level and bringing yet more death and destruction in their wake. Now forced to fight a war on two fronts, Chevalier became even more withdrawn, realizing that if things were to continue on as they currently were there was going to be no end to the fighting. Eventually however the allied forces were able to push back the arrancar to the lands from whence they’d come and begin the process of rebuilding. Chevalier however would have nothing to do with that process as he was destined to leave the Soul Society in search of redemption for the sins he’d committed during the Seireitei’s time of civil war.
    Following the conflict, Chevalier took to the wanderer's path on a form of walkabout, hoping to find a way to atone for his the deaths he had caused and give meaning to the lives of all those who had died at his hand, while at the same time trying to reclaim the humanity he had lost. Even on the road he continued his training, seeking new levels of power and skill as he worked to try and make the lives of anyone he came across just a little bit better. His journey took him across both the spirit realm and the world of the living before eventually leading him to Armond and the land of the Vizards.
    While with them he was able to confront and at least partially subdue his inner demons, and thus gain one of the strongest and most feared abilities known… the power of a hybrid being. Feeling that he owed Armond for what the Vizard leader had done for him, and beginning to once again feel the sense of kinship he had once experienced back during his days in the Seireitei, Chevalier decided to stay on with them and help protect his new home. Since then he has found his niche working as an unseen protector of those less fortunate then himself and working to better the lives of those he has sworn to protect.
